Service Description

Suitable for Screen Acting Beginners! Participants must have completed a minimum of 3 x Intermediate Drama Courses with Savage Heart (or elsewhere). This six-week screen acting intensive offers actors the chance to explore camera work in a practical, playful, and confidence-building environment. The course focuses on truth, presence, and responsiveness on camera, while embracing curiosity, experimentation, and fun. Rather than treating screen acting as something restrictive or intimidating, the intensive encourages actors to play, take risks, and discover how their existing skills translate to camera-based performance. Through exercises, filmed scenes, and group playback, students will develop technical awareness alongside freedom, imagination, and enjoyment. The course explores: Presence, focus, and inner action on camera Listening and responding under close observation Emotional truth, spontaneity, and connection Working comfortably with technical elements Screen dialogue, subtext, and naturalism Confidence, playfulness, and ease in front of the camera Sessions are highly practical, collaborative, and actor-focused, creating a supportive space where students can experiment, laugh, and learn by doing. Playback is used as a tool for discovery rather than critique, helping actors build trust in themselves and their instincts. By the end of the intensive, students will feel more relaxed, adventurous, and confident working on screen, with a clearer understanding of how to bring truthful, compelling performances to camera. Ideal for actors who want to demystify screen work, expand their range, and enjoy the process as much as the outcome.

Cancellation Policy

REFUNDS Once you book a course with us, we can offer a refund with the minimum notice of two weeks before the course starts. This is so we can resell the place. Please note refunds can take 5-7 business days to be processed by our website provider. MISSING CLASS / DEFERRING YOUR PLACE Missed classes due to illness, travel, work, or other circumstances are your responsibility and cannot be compensated by Savage Heart. As we can only offer a limited number of places on each course, when someone wants to defer, this means losing a space that could be taken by another student. If for some reason you book the course and then become unavailable, it is sometimes possible to defer your place to next term. This is on a case-by-case basis and if it is possible, then we will charge a small admin fee for this. If you have already attended classes in the course you booked onto, this will not be possible. We will not defer a student's place more than once. MOVING COURSE If you decide you would like to move to another level after starting a course, this can be discussed with your facilitator on a case by case basis. There may be an admin fee for this. SAFE SPACE Our courses and work shops are safe spaces. Any hate speech, bullying or threatening behavior (physical or emotional) will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove anyone from the class who behaves in a way that makes other students or our facilitators feel unsafe, or intimidated.
